Primorje-Gorski Kotar, Croatia
Sveti Ivan Beach is a remote and scenic spot located on the island of Cres, Croatia, facing the open Adriatic Sea. Nestled beneath dramatic limestone cliffs and accessible only by foot or boat, the beach is famed for its turquoise waters and unspoiled natural surroundings. The spot is far less crowded than popular Croatian kitesurfing destinations, making it ideal for those seeking solitude and adventure. The wind here is predominantly the Maestral (NW), which blows regularly during summer afternoons, creating excellent freeride and bump-and-jump conditions. The water is crystal clear, with a mix of flat sections and small wind-driven chop. There are no built-up amenities on the beach itself, but the nearby village of Lubenice offers basic facilities and accommodation. The local scene is laid-back, with only a handful of kitesurfers frequenting the area. The spot is best accessed by hiking down from Lubenice (about 45 minutes) or by arranging a boat transfer from Cres town.
