Kommos Beach is a wild, sandy bay on Crete’s south coast, near the ancient ruins of Phaistos. The spot is exposed to SW winds, which can provide excellent kitesurfing conditions in spring and autumn. The beach is long and open, with plenty of space for launching and riding. The area is less developed, with a few seasonal tavernas and basic facilities.
